Cheer Third at National Championships

DAYTONA BEACH, FL-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's cheer team finished in third place on the second and final day of the two-day All-Girl Division III National Cheerleading Association Championships at the Ocean Center Friday night.

The Corsairs finished with a score of 8.946, placing them third among the 19 teams at nationals.

Bridgewater State finished first with a score of 9.265, while Lindenwood was second at 9.104. Trailing UMass Dartmouth were Elmira at 8.860, California Baptist at 8.575, Framingham State at 8.321, Montclair State and Curry at 8.173, 8.569, Davenport at 8.165, New York University at 8.075, and Erie Community College at 7.858

The Corsairs have won five national championships.
