Equestrian Earns Second Consecutive 2nd Place Finish

BRISTOL, R.I. -- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth equestrian team took runner-up for the second consecutive weekend, as the Corsairs competed at Glen Farm in the Roger Williams University show on Saturday afternoon.  

Sophomore Sarah Kieran (Plympton, Mass.) took home first place in open over fences and placed sixth in open on the flat. Junior Nicole Zaun placed first in intermediate over fences, and fifth in open flat.

Senior Rachel Pacheco (Fall River, Mass.) finished sixth in novice over fences, while juniors Colleen Waclawik (Millis, Mass.) and Alexandra Koury (Holden, Mass.) both earned second in novice on the flat.

Sophomore Jillian Ruyffelaert (Northampton, Mass.) took first place in Advanced Walk Trot Canter and classmate Kira Hallberg (Foxboro, Mass.) placed third in Beginner Walk Trot Canter. Sophomore Meghan Lefebvre (Fitchburg, Mass.) finished in first place in the Walk Trot event.  

UMass Dartmouth will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 8, when the Corsairs compete in the University of Rhode Island show at Mystic Valley Hunt Club in Gales Ferry, Conn.
