HOLLISTON, Mass. - The UMass Dartmouth equestrian team turned in a seventh place finish at the last regular season show this past Saturday, competing in Holliston at a show hosted by the College of the Holy Cross.
Senior Colleen Waclawik (Millis, Mass.) captured two top-three finishes on the day, placing second in intermediate over fences and third on the flat. Her third-place finish qualifies her for IHSA Regionals in the event.
Junior Kira Hallberg (Foxboro, Mass.) placed second in both of her events, including on the flat and jumping. Freshman Morgan Tanner (Rehoboth, Mass.) earned a fourth-place finish in novice equitation on the flat and sixth in novice over fences, and junior Jillian Ruyffelaert (Northampton, Mass.) took fourth in novice on the flat.
Also garnering fifth place finishes were senior LillyAnna Keuhl (Westford, Mass.), in beginner walk trot canter and sophomore Nicole Ineson (Maynard, Mass.) in walk trot. Junior Meghan Lefebvre (Fitchburg, Mass.) collected sixth place in walk trot canter, and freshman Erin Parelli (Mohawk, N.Y.) took fourth in walk trot.
The Corsairs will wrap up their season this coming Saturday, as several team members will compete at the Region I IHSA Finals at UMass Dartmouth's home venue, Claddagh Farm in Tiverton, R.I.
