TIVERTON, R.I. - UMass Dartmouth Equestrian finished second on Sunday afternoon, claiming Reserve Champion out of eleven teams at their first Intercollegiate Horse Show Association show of in the season, hosted by Salve Regina University.

How it Happened
Sophomore captain Olivia van der Meer (Medway, Mass.) started off the show by taking first in both open over fences and open flat classes. As a result, van der Meer was tabbed as the High Point Rider of the show.
Junior Anna von Einem (Caracas, Venezuela) made her IHSA debut, placing sixth in her intermediate flat class, and senior Kira Hallberg (Foxboro, Mass.) placed sixth in her novice over fences class. Sophomore Morgan Tanner (Rehoboth, Mass.) and senior captain Jillian Ruyffelaert (Northampton, Mass.) both placed in their novice flat classes, with Tanner placing first and Ruyffelaert fourth.
Sophomore Shelby Cunningham (Mattapoisett, Mass.) and freshman Lyndsey Getchell (Dartmouth, Mass.) placed in their beginner walk trot canter class of ten riders. Cunningham placed second and Getchell finished sixth in her first IHSA show. Wrapping up the event was junior captain Nicole Ineson (Maynard, Mass.) and sophomore Erin Parrelli (Mohawk, N.Y.), as Ineson took first and Parrelli sixth.
UMass Dartmouth is back to IHSA competition on Sunday, traveling to Windswept Farm in Warren, R.I. for Brown University's annual fall show.
