Women's Sailing Wraps Up Year at Mass. Maritime

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. - The UMass Dartmouth women's sailing team competed Sunday in the O'Toole regatta hosted by Massachusetts Maritime.  The Corsairs sent two teams (four boats) to the event in hopes of getting all of the women on the water in their final event of the season.  With twelve to seventeen knots of very shifty wind, the competitors faced a challenging day of racing.

While the Corsairs did not have their strongest performance of the year, the goal for this event was to get all of the newest team members into a competition before breaking for summer. Every member of the team was able to sail at least two races, a first for UMass Dartmouth. When all was said and done, the Corsairs found themselves in 13th and 14th place, seven points behind the hosts.

After a very successful season of development, the women's sailing season has drawn to a close.  The team is anxious to begin sailing again next September. UMass Dartmouth wraps up 2015-16 with three top-10 NEISA even finishes in one of the most successful springs in program history.
