Corsairs Compete at Tufts' Central Series 4

MEDFORD, Mass. - The UMass Dartmouth women's sailing team competed on Saturday in the Central Series 4 hosted by Tufts University on Mystic Lake.

How it Happened
Captains Kelsey Delosh (Boston, Mass.), Courtney Grippin (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Hannah Desilets (Little Compton, R.I.) took turns sailing in the A division while Shannon McKeown (Franklin, Mass.) and Melanie Muzyka (Pembroke, Mass.) sailed in the B division.  Sustained winds of 15-20 knots, gusting to nearly 30 knots, made conditions difficult for sailing. The A boat remained upright, but the B boat struggled in the wind before eventually capsizing and was forced to retire.

When the racing concluded the Corsairs found themselves at the bottom of the 8 team fleet behind Boston University, Tufts 1, Brown, Johnson & Wales, Tufts 2, WPI and UMass Amherst, respectively.
