Men's Basketball Heads South for NCAA Division III Sectional Tournament

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's basketball team will play their NCAA Division III Tournament sectional round at the Mayser Center at Franklin and Marshall University this weekend. The Corsairs will play DeSales, while the host Diplomats will play Salem State. Game times have been tentatively set for 6 and 8 p.m. with the championship game tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening, March 14th.

The Corsairs, who defeated Baruch, 82-72, and host WPI, 81-68 last weekend, are one of three teams that advanced after winning regionals on the road. Franklin and Marshall hosted last weekend's regional playoffs, and advanced by defeating Wesley, 93-69, and Brandeis, 65-63. DeSales downed St. Joseph's of Long Island, 86-78, and then won Saturday at Ithaca, 77-71. Salem State defeated the Rochester Institute of Technology, 83-71, and host Widener, 69-67.
