Brandon Stephens Earns Basketball Post-Season Honor

KANSAS CITY, MO-Junior forward University of Massachusetts Dartmouth junior forward Brandon Stephens (Dorchester, MA/Newton North HS) has received another post-season honor.

Stephens has earned second team honors as a member of the 2010 National Basketball Coaches' Association Division III All-Northeast Region team.

Stephens led the Corsairs in scoring this season, averaging 18.4 points per game. He averaged 4.2 rebounds, made 51 per cent of his shots from the field, and 46.7 per cent from three-point range. He was third in the Little East Conference in scoring, he led the LEC in three-point field goal percentage, and he ranked third in three-pointers made and sixth in free-throw percentage. Stephens has earned All-Little East Conference honors twice and was named LEC Rookie of the Year as a freshman. He joined the 1000 Point Club when he scored 21 points at Rhode Island College January 26th.

"Brandon had a great year for us," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Brian Baptiste. "He stepped up and led us in scoring. Brandon always plays hard in the other aspects of the game. He is an asset to our team in a lot of different ways besides scoring."
