Men's Basketball Picked Fourth in Little East Conference Poll
Nov. 16, 2010
NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's basketball team has been picked to finish fourth in the annual Little East Conference pre-season coaches' poll.
The Corsairs received 41 points, three points behind third-place Eastern Connecticut State and one point ahead of fifth-place Keene State.
Rhode Island College was picked to finish first with six first place votes and 62 points, while Western Connecticut State was picked to finish second with 53 points and the other two first place votes. Southern Maine, UMass Boston and Plymouth State were ranked sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively.
"Looking at all the returning people that all the other teams have, and taking into consideration what others teams have done in terms of recruiting, it's probably a good pre-season guess for us," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Brian Baptiste. "The way the poll went is pretty close to what I thought the pre-season poll should look like. Western has a good group back, so does RIC and so does n Eastern Connecticut."
UMass Dartmouth will begin their 2010-11 season when they host Thomas at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening in the first round of the Hampton Inn Classic.
