UMass Dartmouth freshman running back Devante Greaves was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Geico Football Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on Sunday afternoon for his efforts in Saturday’s 32-29 setback to Fitchburg State at Cressy Field.
Greaves, a native of Raynham, Mass. and a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School, rushed for 82 yards on 14 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns on runs of eight and 18 yards for the Corsairs, as he also tossed a two-point conversion pass late in the contest. Devante, who was also honored as the MASCAC Rookie and Co-Offensive Player of the Week following a career-high 237 yard, four touchdown performance in a 41-27 win over Worcester State on October 20th, finished his freshman campaign as UMass Dartmouth’s leading rusher with 492 yards and seven scores.
Head Coach Mark Robichaud’s squad completed the 2018 season with an overall mark of 5-5 that included a 4-4 slate in MASCAC play.
