NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-UMass Dartmouth freshman linebacker Alex Kershaw (Foxboro, MA/Oliver Ames HS) made his first game in a Corsair uniform one to remember.
Kershaw has been honored as the New England Football Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

He forced a fumble, and then recovered it on the second half kickoff, allowing UMD to score and take a 17-7 lead on their first play from scrimmage after the intermission. The play was one of the key plays of the game.
"Alex had an outstanding football game Friday night," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Mark Robichaud. "He is extremely athletic with great instincts. Alex is a tremendous player who is only going to get better with experience. We are very fortunate to have Alex in our program."
