Rhode Island College finished first at 309-621, and the host Wildcats were second at 323-639.
For UMD, senior Matt Connolly (Lynnfield, MA/Lynnfield HS) shot a 76 for a two-day total of 157 and tied for fourth, junior Brandon Kelleher (Hopedale, MA/Hopedale HS) shot a 78 for 158 and tied for seventh , junior Pete Danko (Norton, MA/Norton HS/Massachusetts) shot an 84 for 166 and tied for 19th, junior Ryan Benton (Whitman, MA/Whitman-Hanson HS/Massasoit CC) shot 85-163 and finished 17th, and freshman Jake Fryzel (Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth HS) shot 89-181 and finished 34th.
"Matt Connolly and Brendan Kelleher came back today and had nice rounds," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Joel Baptista. "As a team, we need to play better if we want to compete in the conference championships next weekend. We have to make more putts, we have to get up and down more, and we have to stay away from the big numbers. We have to get off to a better start, 11 shots is a lot to make up in a two-day tournament. Congratulations to Rhode Island College, and thanks to Johnson & Wales for putting on a nice tournament."
The Corsairs will return to action at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference championships next weekend.
