BOSTON, MA-Three members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's golf team have earned post-season honors from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
Junior Brandon Oldham (Mattapoisett, MA/Old Rochester Regional HS) and senior Kevin Rewinski (Springfield, MA/Springfield HS) were named second team All-Conference, while senior George Gillmore (Cotuit, MA/Barnstable HS/Fairfield) was named to the Sportsmanship Team.
Oldham and Rewinski tied for sixth and Gillmore finished in a tie for 24th at last weekend's GNAC Championships, at which the Corsairs finished third.
"Brandon was a key cog on our championship team two years ago, and it's great to have him back after a year off.," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Joel Baptista. "His game is solid from tee to green. Brandon will be an integral part of our success not only for the rest of this fall and spring season, but during his senior year as well."
"I don't think anyone on the team has worked harder to get to where Kevin has," Baptista added." He has practiced and played with a purpose and it's great to see him reap the benefits of the fruits of his labor with this award."
"George embodies the word 'sportsmanship' both on and off the course," Baptista continued. "He is a gentleman playing a gentleman's game. He never gets too high or too low on the course and always thinks team first. The team is going to miss George's presence."
The Corsairs will conclude fall action this weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships.
