PROVIDENCE, RI - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's golf team shot a team score of 346 for a two-day total of 670 and finished sixth in a 14-team field at the Rhode Island College Spring Invitational, which concluded Saturday at the par-72 Triggs Memorial Golf Course.
Middlebury placed first with a 312 for a two-day total of 620.
For UMass Dartmouth, junior Brendan Kelleher (Hopedale, MA/Hopedale HS) shot an 83 for 161, senior Kevin Rewinski (Springfield, MA/Springfield HS) shot 85 for 166, junior Brandon Oldham (Mattapoisett, MA/Old Rochester Regional HS) shot an 89 for 167, senior Matt Connolly (Lynnfield, MA/Lynnfield HS) shot an 89 for 176, and freshman Colin Campbell (Marlborough, MA/St. John's HS) shot 94 for 185.
"It was tough to play today, the wind was blowing hard early, although it got better as the day went along," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Joel Baptista. "We need to be able to execute better. We've seen that course many times, and we expect more out of them, and they expect more out of themselves. It's back to the drawing board Monday, and we'll get ready to host our home tournament next weekend."
The Corsairs will host the Hampton Inn Classic next weekend.
