Brendan Kelleher Earns GNAC Golf Academic Honors

BOSTON, MA-Junior Brendan Kelleher (Hopedale, MA/Hopedale HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's golf team has been honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

Kelleher has been named Academic All-Conference. To qualify, student-athletes must post a 3.25 grade point average and be a sophomore or higher.

One of the Corsairs' leaders, Kelleher tied for the team lead when he tied for fifth at UMD's Hampton Inn Classic, and led the Corsairs when he finished third at their final event of the season, Worcester State's Rich Korzec Memorial Invitational.

"It's great to see Brendan honored for his efforts in the classroom," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Joel Baptista. "He is the definition of a student-athlete, leading by example both on the golf course and in his academics.  Every coach wants a player like Brendan. He is primed for a successful senior season."
