FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's golf squad competed at Long Island's premiere Bethpage State Park over the weekend, finishing ninth as a unit at the Farmingdale State College Invitational with a team score of 654 (+94).

How it Happened
UMass Dartmouth hit the links on Bethpage's Red Course on both days, shooting a Saturday team score of 320. Junior Jackson Mitchell (Marion, Mass.) registered the Corsairs' best round to start, shooting 78 (+8) to sit tied for 16th overall. Close behind was senior Jared Fadding (Lenox, Mass.) and junior Austin Alves (Rochester, Mass.) at 79. Ben Bedarian (Franklin, Mass.) and Nick Lombardo (Medway, Mass.) posted rounds of 84 and 89, respectively to close out the first day.
Fadding shaved two shots off his score on Sunday, recording UMass Dartmouth's best round of the weekend at 77 to close out the Invitational at 156. For the first three tournaments of the season, Fadding has earned the Corsairs' top individual placemen (T-17th).
Mitchell also registered in under 80 on the second round, shooting 79 on Sunday to finish 22nd overall. Bedarian again posted an 84, with Lombardo totaling 94. Alves withdrew following the first day of competition.
Inside the Numbers
- Bethpage's Red Course totals 6,900 yards with a par of 70.
- Only two individuals, including Blake Ludwig of Rosemont College and Daulton Wickenden of Husson, shot below par rounds of 69 on the weekend.
- Ludwig claimed the individual title, with Husson earning the team crown at 593 (+33).
