Junior goaltender Ryan Williams
BUZZARDS BAY, MA-University of Massachusetts Dartmouth junior goaltender Ryan Williams (Milton, ON/Huntsville Otters-OPJHL) has been honored by the in a Massachusetts Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Williams has been named MASCAC Co-Goaltender of the Week.
In two games last week, Williams posted a 2.08 goals-against average, making 37 stops in a 3-2 overtime loss at Plymouth State last Thursday evening and 22 saves while giving up one goal in the first 54 minutes of a 9-4 win against Framingham State Saturday. He posted a .937 save percentage for the week. For the season, he has a 2.54 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage
"Ryan Williams has been tremendous in net for us, and his goals-against average and save percentage are two very good indicators of his value to the team," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. "He was especially sharp making 37 saves at Plymouth. While he only faces 23 shots in the Framingham game, he made four or five key stops. The team has played very well in front of him this season, and he's played equally well behind the team."
UMass Dartmouth is 6-3-1 and 4-1-1 in the MASCAC. The Corsairs will take time off for the holidays and return to action when they host Babson Saturday, January 7th.
