Shaun Tavares begins his 15^th season with the UMass Dartmouth hockey program in 2012.  A special education administrator in the New Bedford Public Schools system, Tavares' primary responsibility with the Corsairs is coaching the defensemen.  Prior to joining the staff at UMD, Tavares was the Head Hockey Coach at New Bedford High School and co-director of the Corsair Hockey Camps.
