NEW BEDFORD, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's hockey team broke a 1-1 tie with three second period goals and went on to defeat visiting Framingham State, 6-2, in a Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference game at the Stephan Hetland Memorial Ice Arena Thursday evening.

Blades, who scored the first goal of the game, and junior forward Todd Bartelson (Pepperell, MA/Valley Jr. Warriors) each wound up with a goal and an assist.
"We really responded well tonight," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. "We clearly dominated play, and we got out of the first period tied, 1-1. We came back and took a three-goal lead in the second period, and they scored a late goal, but we just kept going. We had a great effort throughout the lineup tonight."
The Corsairs out shot FSC, 38-22. Ram goaltender Billy Sias made 32 saves, while Jon Dryjowicz-Burek made 20 for UMass Dartmouth.
UMD improved to 4-4-1 and 1-3-1 in the MASCAC with the victory, while Framingham State dropped to 1-7-1 and 1-5-0 in the MASCAC with the defeat. The Corsairs will return to action when they host Fitchburg State Saturday. The Rams will visit Becker Saturday.
"We're looking to build on this game, and we have a very big game Saturday against an arch-rival, so we're looking forward to that," said Rolli."
