Locals Key to College Hockey Team

Five area players have contributed to the success of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's hockey team that was 7-2-1 overall and tied for first place in the MASCAC.
"We have gotten off to a surprisingly good start, considering we were picked fifth out of seven teams by the MASCAC coaches in their poll,'' said Corsairs veteran head coach John Rolli. "It's a credit to the team that we've been winning while dealing with injuries that have forced several key players to miss games.''Continued... Rolli's roster includes senior forward Billy Manning of Stoughton, sophomore forward Dan Dempsey of Norwell, junior forward Paul Graham of Quincy, junior defenseman Cullen Lundholm of Plymouth, and sophomore goalie Nate Eagan of Hingham.
"Manning is a solid two-way center iceman, Dempsey is a goal scorer's goal scorer (with two key goals, including the winner in OT against Stonehill), Graham is a big, physical right winger who can crash the boards and help set up his linemates,'' said Rolli, whose team was 4-1-1 in conference play.
"Lundholm is arguably one of our top two defensemen. He has played well, but has been limited due to injury, and we're hoping to get him back after the semester break,'' added Rolli, "and Eagan is a backup to the top goalie in the MASCAC, Collin Tracy.''
