HOLDERNESS, N.H. – Sophomore Bo Prozinski (Ashland, Mass.) scored a season-high seven goals to lead the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's lacrosse team to a 10-4 victory over Plymouth State University in a Little East Conference contest at The Holderness School on Sunday afternoon.
UMass Dartmouth earns its second straight win to improve to 7-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The Panthers had their four-game winning streak snapped as they drop to 4-2 and 0-1.
Prozinski netted a pair of goals in the first quarter to power the Corsairs to a 2-1 lead after one. The sophomore attack man added another marker in the third frame and four goals in the fourth to seal the win for the Corsairs.
Senior Justin Lawless (Quincy, Mass.) scored late in the third to increase the visitor's lead to 6-2. Prozinski notched the first two goals in the first minute of the fourth quarter to give the Corsairs a commanding 8-2 advantage before holding on for the win.
Defenseman Steven Tarpey (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and sophomore Dan Brown (Beverly, Mass.) collected five ground balls apiece, while Ryan Garland and Colin Claflin recorded identical totals for the home team.
Senior Nick Thayer (Chelmsford, Mass.) made 15 saves in the UMass Dartmouth net en route to his seventh win of the season, while Jesse Kutz turned away 14 attempts for the Panthers.
The Corsairs return to action on Wednesday, April 9, when the Corsairs travel to at Massachusetts Maritime for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup.
