PAWTUCKET, R.I. – University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men’s lacrosse freshman Donovan Prozinski (Ashland, Mass.) was recognized by the Little East Conference office on Monday, earning the team’s first Rookie of the Week honor following a 2-1 week for the Corsairs.
Prozinski picked up his first conference honor after scoring 15 points, 10 goals, and 5 assists over three games. On Monday, the freshman generated a balanced attack against Becker, scoring three goals and tacking on three more assists in the 19-5 win. On Wednesday, in the 8-6 win against Mass. Maritime, the attacker potted one goal and added one helper to secure the win. In Little East Conference action, Prozinski tallied a career high four goals and scooped up three ground balls in a 9-8 overtime loss to Southern Maine.
Thus far on the season, Prozinski is tied for the team lead with 21 goals, and ranks second in both assists (11) and points (32). He leads all UMass Dartmouth attackers with 24 ground balls.
UMass Dartmouth heads back into LEC action, traveling to UMass Boston on Wednesday to take on the Beacons at 3:30 p.m.
