Dave Beriau begins his second season on the UMass Dartmouth mjen's lacrosse staff, serving as an assistant coach under Head Coach Kevin Mahoney. He helped guide the Corsairs to a 10-6 record last year, with an appearance in the Little East Conference Tournament.
Beriau joined the Corsairs after a season as assistant men's lacrosse coach at Colby College. While he was at Colby, the Mules finished 9-7 and appeared in the New England Small College Athletic Conference playoffs, losing in double overtime to Middlebury in the quarterfinals.
Beriau was an assistant coach for Falmouth (MA) Academy in 2010 and helped the team win the Southeastern New England Independent Schools Athletic Association (SENEISAA) league title for the first time in eight years. Falmouth Academy, a small co-ed private school on Cape Cod, finished the season at 10-4.
A 2009 graduate of Elmira where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, Beriau was an attackman when he entered college, but played a number of positions for the Soaring Eagles, giving him a great appreciation and understanding for the overall game of lacrosse. Beriau played four years for the Soaring Eagles and finished his career with six goals, 19 assists, and 83 groundballs.
A team co-captain during his senior year, Beriau earned the Elmira Men's Lacrosse Teammate Award in 2006 and was the Soaring Eagles' selection on the Empire 8 Conference Team Sportsmen of the Year.
Beriau is also the Assistant Director of Cape Cod Lacrosse.
Beriau is currently a graduate student pursuing his MBA at UMass Dartmouth.
