NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA--Senior goalkeeper Mike Phelan (Carver, MA/Carver HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team has been honored by the Little East Conference.
Phelan has been named LEC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week. It's the third time this season that he has been so honored.
Phelan allowed two goals in 182 minutes and three seconds last week as the Corsairs split a pair of matches, defeating Worcester State, 2-1, and losing to Keene State in overtime, 1-0. He made 10 saves, posted a 0.99 goals against average and to post a 0.99 goals against average and an .833 save percentage. Phelan made five stops in the non-conference win over Worcester State.
"Mike played well last week," said UMass Dartmouth Assistant Coach Brian Medeiros. "He's been playing well all season. Mike only let up one goal last week, he deserves the honor."
The Corsairs are 11-4-0 and 5-1-0 in the LEC and will host Bridgewater State Tuesday.
