BRIDGEWATER, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's swimming team swept host Bridgewater State in a dual meet at the Moriarty Pool Tuesday evening. The Corsair women won, 139-92, and the Corsair men were victorious, 134-86. UMass Dartmouth won 18 of the 26 events. .

Women's winners for UMD included senior Kim Moore (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS), who won the 1000 freestyle in 11:54.30 and the 500 freestyle in 5:46.86, sophomore Katelyn Kidney (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical HS/Bryant), who won the 100 butterfly in 1:06.04, sophomore Morgan Cooper (Sunderland, MA/Frontier Regional HS), who won the 200 freestyle in 2:06.21 and the 100 freestyle in 57.84, senior Meredith Maki (Holden, MA/Wachusett regional HS) who won the 100 backstroke in 1:07.14, and junior Maggie Conlon (Methuen, MA/Methuen HS), who won the 200 individual medley in 2:23.19.

The 400 freestyle relay team of Maki, freshman Leslie Martin (Pittsfield, MA/Pittsfield HS), Kidney and Conlon finished first in 3:59.05, while the 200 medley relay team of Conlon, Cooper, Kidney and Maki was victorious in 2:01.03.

For the men, freshman Edward Olean (Seekonk, MA/Seekonk HS) won the 1000 freestyle in 10:52,76, sophomore Eric Frohman (Woodbridge, CT/Amity HS) won the 200 freestyle in 2:01.53 and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.03, senior Nick Poliseno (Brockton, MA/Brockton HS) won the 50 freestyle in 25.22 seconds, sophomore Matthew Lee (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford HS) won the 200 individual medley in 2;17.29 and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.68, junior Josh Potcner (Holbrook, MA/Cardinal Spellman HS), who won the 500 freestyle in 5:59.19, sophomore Christian Francia (Hampton, NH/Winnacunnet HS), who won the one meter diving with 278 points and the three meter diving with 298.30 points, and junior Kevin Janofsky (Brookfield, CT/Brookfield HS), who won the 100 freestyle in 54.79.

"We had a great meet tonight at Bridgewater," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "We qualified multiple athletes for the championships."

UMass Dartmouth's women are now 1-2, while the UMD men are 1-1. Bridgewater State's women are now 1-3, while the men are now 0-4.

The Corsairs will return to action when they host the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday.
