Men's Swimmers Successful at ECAC Championships

EAST MEADOW, NY-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's swimming team performed well on the second day of action at the three-day Eastern College Athletic Conference Winter Championships at the Nassau County Aquatic Center Saturday. c In the 200 yard backstroke, freshman Eric Frohman (Woodbridge, CT/Amity HS) was 31st in 2:12.39. He was 85th in the men's 100 yard freestyle in 53.24 seconds, and 34th in the 100 yard backstroke in 59.82 seconds.
In the men's 100 yard freestyle, senior Craig Johnson (Acushnet, MA/New Bedford HS) finished 56th in 50.63 seconds. He was 30th in the 200 butterfly in 2:14.40, and 23rd in the 100 butterfly in 54.67 seconds.
Senior Andrew Haughey (West Springfield, MA/West Springfield HS) was 87th in the 100 freestyle in 53.52 seconds. He was 44th in the 200 freestyle in 1:56.57, and 51st in the 100 butterfly in 58.77 seconds.
In the 100 freestyle, sophomore Chris Dodge (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional HS) was 96th in 54.45 seconds. He was 45th in the 100 backstroke in 1:05.56, and 56th in the 200 freestyle in 2:00.81.
Sophomore Kevin Janofsky (Brookfield, CT/Brookfield HS) was 98th in the 100 freestyle in 54.67 seconds. In the men's 200 yard breaststroke, he was 45th in 2:35.82, and in the 100 yard breaststroke, he was 59th in 1:10.96.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Haughey, Dodge, Frohman, and Johnson finished 13th in 1:34.84.
The Corsairs have 97 points and are in 13th place in a 15-team field. The meet will conclude Sunday.
