Men's Swimmers Eighth After First Day at ECAC Championships

EAST MEADOW, NY-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's swimming team is in eighth place in an 11-team field after the first day of action at the three-day Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Swimming Championships at the Nassau County Aquatics Center.

Three-meter diving was a strength, as junior Matt Fahey (New Bedford, MA/Middleborough HS) was fourth with 379 points, and freshman Brandon Riendeau (Lakeville, MA/Apponequet HS) was 14th with 230.05 points. The 200 yard medley relay team of freshman Chris Dodge (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional HS) and juniors Steve Szarek (Middletown, CT/Middletown HS), David Adams (Tyngsboro, MA/Tyngsboro HS) and Craig Johnson (Acushnet, MA/New Bedford HS) finished eighth in 1:46.31.

The meet will continue Saturday and conclude Sunday.
