Men's Tennis to Open NCAA Play Friday

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA -The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team will head north when they participate in the NCAA Division III Championships for the third time in four seasons.

The Corsairs, who earned the Little East Conference's automatic berth into the NCAAs when they defeated Bridgewater State in the Little East Conference championship match Saturday, will play Baruch Friday at Bowdoin's Pickard Courts in a first round match. The winner of Friday's match will play the host Polar Bears Saturday, while Trinity (TX) and Skidmore will play in Saturday's other second-round match. The winners of Saturday's match meet Sunday for the regional championship and a berth among the final eight teams in Cary, NC.

UMass Dartmouth will take a 13-2 record into Friday's match. Baruch is 15-2 and advanced by virtue of winning the City University of New York Athletic Conference championship. The time for the matches at the regional tournament will be announced Tuesday
