GORHAM, Maine – The #4-seeded University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's tennis team fell to the #1-seeded University of Southern Maine, 5-1, in the semi-final round of the 2014 Little East Conference Tournament Championship on Thursday afternoon.
Senior Matt Bejtilich (Rochester, Mass.) and sophomore Daniel Chouinard (Westport, Mass.) gave the Corsairs an early advantage as the tandem opened doubles play with an 8-4 win in #1 Doubles. The top-seeded Huskies bounced back to capture a pair of wins at the #2 and #3 spots, 8-0 and 8-2.
Southern Maine entered singles play with a 2-1 lead and swept #1, #2 and #3 Singles in straight sets to advance to the championship game.
The Corsairs finished the year with an overall record of 5-8 and a 3-3 conference record.
