Bison Sweep Corsairs

PROMFRET, Conn. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Nichols College this evening at The Pomfret School.  The Bison improved to 4-2, while the Corsairs fell to 0-3.

Nichols raced out to a 3-0 advantage by sweeping the doubles competitions.  The Bison's' No. 1 pairing defeated junior Daniel Chouinard (Westport, Mass.) and sophomore Corey Rafter (Franklin, Mass.) fell 8-0, while senior Ray Lawton (Fairhaven, Mass.) and junior Jake Joskolka (Mattapoisett, Mass.) suffered an 8-2 setback at second-flight doubles.  Nichols completed the sweep, when senior Malcolm Neville (Foxboro, Mass.) and junior Andrew Burdick (Dartmouth, Mass.) lost 8-1.

The Bison kept charging past the Corsairs in the single portion as the hosts did not drop a set. 

UMass Dartmouth will return to action at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, when the Corsairs travel to Roger Williams University.
