BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams made quick work of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Monday afternoon, capturing a 9-0 victory in the collegiate debuts for Corsair freshman Tommy Yong (Braintree, Mass.) and sophomore Eric Cimino (Braintree, Mass.).

How it Happened
The No. 1 doubles pairing of juniors Justin Torres (Dighton, Mass.) and Patrick Pacheco (Fall River, Mass.) took a pair of sets against RWU's Alex Bonanno (Westford, Mass.) and Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) before the Hawks wrapped up an 8-2 decision. In the remaining flights, the Corsair duos of Summer Forest-Bulley (Turners Falls, Mass.) and Zach Pavao (Somerset, Mass.) at No. 2 and Mark Desmond (Braintree, Mass.) and Yong at No. 3 both fell to by 8-0 scores.
RWU then held UMass Dartmouth to no more than two games in singles competition. In his debut at No. 2, Torres dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.), while Pacheco and Pavao fell 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively. Freshman Eliel Mares (Milford, Mass.) was swept 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4, and Cimino and Yong were both dispatched by 6-0, 6-1 scores in the final two flights by their Hawk opponents.
