Men's Tennis Upended by Holy Cross

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth hosted Div. I Holy Cross for a nonconference tilt on Monday, as the Corsairs were upended by the Crusaders in a 7-2 final at the UMD Tennis Courts.

How it Happened

The Crusaders jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the match following the doubles session. In the opening match of singles, senior Patrick Pacheco (Fall River, Mass.) earned the first point for the Corsairs, edging out Matthew Murphy (Guilford, Conn.) in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-3.

After Holy Cross took its fourth point, freshman Eli Brooks (Franklin, Mass.) overcame one set deficit, battling back to give the host its second point of the contest. The Crusaders took control in the remainder of the match to etch the 7-2 victory.
