The Corsair men scored 32 points and finished fourth overall. Bates was first with 69 points. The women were 20th with 14 points. MIT finished first with 56.5 points.
Sophomore Chris Perry (Providence, RI/Dighton-Rehoboth HS/Bristol CC), who has already qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the triple jump, qualified for nationals in the long jump when he finished first with a school record mark of 23 feet, 11 ½ inches.
Freshman Phito Gondre (New Bedford, MA/New Bedford HS) was sixth at 200 meters in a school record time of 22.44 seconds. And the 4 x 800 meter relay team of junior Scott Connolly (Sharon, MA/Sharon HS), freshman Matt Ferro (Halifax, MA/Silver Lake HS), sophomore Zach Switaj (Tamworth, NH/Kennett regional HS) and sophomore Matt Hinthorne (Braintree, MA/Braintree HS) was second in a school record time of 7:48.95 seconds.
Gondre also was seventh in the 60 meter dash in 7.01 seconds.
Junior Jillian Van Ness (Agawam, MA/Agawam HS) was fourth at 200 meters in 25.61 seconds, senior Courtney Testa (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton HS) finished sixth at 3000 meters in 10:18.82, senior Meaghan Bohigian (Barre, MA/Quabbin Regional HS) ran the mile in 5:15.82 and freshman Katie Sheehan (Scituate, MA/Scituate HS) ran 800 meters in 2:19.25.
"We wanted to end the year on a nice note for the people who had one final meet, were looking to fine tune their performances for nationals, or were trying to qualify for nationals," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Steve Gardiner. "It's a nice way to end the year for everyone except the two people going to nationals. In the last two years, the men have set 13 individual school records, all the way from the 55 meters through the mile, as well as two relay records. The women have broken eight individual school records and three relay records."
Perry and Gondre will represent the Corsairs at the NCAA Division III Championships at Grinnell College in Iowa next weekend.
