NEW ORLEANS, LA-For the second week in succession, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's indoor track and field team has earned a regional ranking.
The men are ranked 20th nationally and fourth in the New England Region in rankings released by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The women' who were ninth last week, were not rated his week.
The men received 33.84 points in the national ranking, and 173.69 points in the regional ranking. Rankings are determined by a mathematical formula, which is based on current performance lists.
"Our performances have place us in this position, and it is well worth it, because of the effort that has been put out," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Steve Gardiner. "After having never been ranked in the top 20 indoors, it is very rewarding, but we don't want to be satisfied with it."
The Corsairs visit Tufts this weekend.
