SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – University of Massachusetts Dartmouth sophomore Kevin Cutler (Attleboro, Mass.) garnered All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) accolades in the high jump this afternoon at the 2015 ECAC Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted Springfield College.
Cutler accounted for all eight of the Corsairs' team points. The sophomore from Attleboro, Mass. eclipsed 2.08 meters (6-9.75) to register a new season-high and place second at the competition. He also placed second at the New England Division III Championships with a leap of 1.98 meters.
Freshman Jared Louf-Woods (Salem, Mass.) won his preliminary flight in the shot put with a throw of 14.48 meters (47-06.25), but did not advance to the finals. He posted the fifth longest throw in program history (14.59m, 47-10.50) last week at the New England Open Championships.
Senior Jacob Teixeira (Seekonk, Mass.) closed out his Corsair career by placing 12th overall in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 55.31 seconds. The senior captain posted the fourth quickest time in his seven-person preliminary heat.
Junior Brandon Jarousky (Attleboro, Mass.) competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing 22nd overall with a time of 22.61 seconds. Racing out of the third preliminary section, he placed fifth in his heat.
The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Selection Committee will announce the 2015 championship participants on Sunday, May 17. The top-15 declared student-athletes in each respective individual event will advance to the national championships. The 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship will be held at Saint Lawrence University.
