NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA- Junior forward Colleen Moriarty (Canton, MA/Canton HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's basketball team has been honored by the Little East Conference.

Moriarty has been named LEC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Moriarty averaged 19.5 points and 11 rebounds per game for a double double in two games last week. She made 15 of 25 shots from the field for 45.7 per cent. Moriarty scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds against Rhode Island College, then scored 23 points and added 16 rebounds and three blocked shots against Eastern Connecticut State.

"Colleen is a tremendous offensive weapon," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Amanda Van Voorhis. "She is smarter with her moves from the block, she is recognizing the double and triple teams, and she is finding the open player on the perimeter. This has been a breakout season for her. I was confident she could lead the way for us statistically and that is what she has done all season. "

The Corsairs are 14-9 and 5-7 in the Little East Conference and will return to action when they visit UMass Boston Tuesday evening.
