NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day at the Corsairs women's basketball game against Plymouth State next Saturday, January 26th.
UMass Dartmouth will play the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. at the Tripp Athletic center in the first game of a Little East Conference doubleheader.
The day's activities will begin with a cookie sales by the Girl Scouts in the Tripp Center lobby at 12:30 p.m. At the same time, there will be a National Girls and Women in Sports Day poster contest in the lobby, sponsored by the Boys' and Girls' Club of Fall River.
At halftime of the women's basketball game, all of the female student-athletes at UMass Dartmouth will walk onto the court at the Tripp Athletic Center, and will be recognized. Then the Case Junior High School women's basketball team will take the court for a five-minute, running time scrimmage. Following the scrimmage, there will be a Domino's Pizza promotion before the second half begins.
