Colleen Moriarty Earns LEC Player of the Week Honors

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA- Senior forward Colleen Moriarty (Canton, MA/Canton HS) has been honored by the Little East Conference.

Moriarty has been named LEC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Moriarty scored a career and game-high 35 points en route to her 1,000th career point in leading the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's basketball team past visiting Plymouth State, 76-39, in the first game of a Little East Conference doubleheader at the Tripp Athletic Center Saturday. For the Corsairs' two games last week, Moriarty averaged 27.5 points and 11.5 rebounds, while adding seven assists, four steals and four blocked shots.

"Colleen has been a standout for our program," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Amanda Van Voorhis. "She has always believed in what we have been building, she embraced the challenge of that process, and she has elevated her game each year. She has been a great teammate and leader. We are so proud of her surpassing the 1,000 point mark last week. We will be very sad to see her move on, but all great things eventually end."

The Corsairs return to action when they visit Mount Ida Tuesday evening.
