Two Corsairs Earn ECAC Field Hockey All-Region Honors
BUZZARDS BAY, MA-Two members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's field hockey team have been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Field Hockey All-Star Team.
Cardiel had eight goals and six assists for 22 points while earning Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. Miedzionoski scored eight goals and had nine assists for 25 points, and both were named first team All-Little East Conference.
"As a coach, it's always wonderful news when your student-athletes get honored," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Castonguay. "I can say that I am not only proud that both Taryn and Jenna were recognized, but I am also honored that our program is being recognized among such an elite group of overall student-athletes. These two seniors are true examples of what UMD field hockey is all about, dedication, pride and sisterhood. I'm thrilled for both of them and I'm sure that the rest of the team is excited to have Taryn and Jenna represent UMD among this list."
The Corsairs finished 17-6, won the Little East championship and advanced to the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships.
