With just over 10 minutes remaining, UMass Dartmouth broke through as senior Erin Kish (Littleton, Mass.) collected a rebound in front of the cage before passing to Delaney Burns (Wayne, N.J.) who converted her second goal of the season, knotting the score at one apiece.

The visitors continued its momentum into extra-time, pressing offensively as it targeted the net six times in the opening three minutes. Melendez came in relief of Mary Brown, and the refreshed attacker came through less than a minute later, netting the game-winning goal.
