BRISTOL, R.I. – The UMass Dartmouth field hockey team insured a first-half marker, scoring two goals in the second stanza to top Roger Williams University on the road by a 3-0 final.

How It Happened
The Corsairs got on the scoreboard in the 23rd minute, when senior Erin Kish (Littleton, Mass.) logged her fifth assist of the year, hitting freshman Desarai Melendez (Brockton, Mass.) in an advantageous position as the freshman picked up her second goal of the year.
UMass Dartmouth were unable to extend the lead before the half despite three shots and two penalty chances in the remaining 12 minutes.
The visiting Corsairs doubled the lead after a corner opportunity in the 51st minute, when Kish controlled the entry pass at the top of the circle, firing to the right side of the net and past the Hawks' net minder for the 2-0 lead.
UMass Dartmouth was not through scoring, rattling in another goal five minutes later when senior Delaney Burns (Wayne, N.J.) potted her eighth marker on the season, upping the final shutout margin to 3-0.
