NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Freshman forward Eleanor Taylor (Fairhaven, MA/Bishop Stang HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's field hockey team has been honored by the Little East Conference.
Taylor has been named LEC Rookie Player of the Week.
Taylor led the Corsairs with three goals for six points last week. She scored the game-winning goal in last Tuesday's 3-1, Little East Conference victory against Worcester State, and then scored twice in a 3-1 LEC win at Western Connecticut State last Friday night.
"Eleanor is extremely coachable, and she is always looking for ways to get better," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Castonguay. "She's starting as a freshman, and her class is extremely strong, and I expect a lot of contributions from them. Scoring goals comes naturally to Eleanor, and the fact that she is very coachable will make her extremely successful."
The Corsairs are 8-4, 6-1 in LEC play. They will return to action when they host Trinity Wednesday evening. UMASS DARTMOUTH FIELD HOCKEY
