CHANDLER, AZ-A member of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's field hockey team recently took her place among the top 38 NCAA Division III field hockey players in the nation.
Senior midfielder Becca Festinger (Greenfield, MA/Greenfield HS) participated in the 2010 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Senior Game. The game took place at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA, the site of the 2010 Division III Final Four.
"To see Becca out there with several of the best Division III players in the nation was a very proud moment for me," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Castonguay. "Hearing 'number six from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth' during the lineup was a moment that Becca will never forget, and the smile on her face was unforgettable. Its memories like this that Becca will carry on with her forever and that I will carry as a coach as well. I'm proud to be part of this program, and I'm proud to be able to coach and mentor student-athletes like Becca. We are honored that she was recognized, and I was honored to be there to support her, along with teammate (senior midfielder) Kellie Ann Finn (Falmouth, MA/Falmouth HS/St. Michael's) and assistant coach, Kylie Treat."
