CENTERVILLE, MA -A member of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's lacrosse team has earned Eastern College Athletic Conference post-season honors.

Sophomore defender Selina Houghton (Billerica, MA/Shawsheen HS) has been named a second team ECAC Women's Lacrosse New England All-Star. Houghton was one of two Little East Conference players so honored, and she is only the fourth Corsair to receive an ECAC post-season award.

Houghton, who was named first team All-Conference, and LEC Defensive Player of the Year, scored four goals and added two assists for six points last season. She led UMass Dartmouth with 65 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers.

"That is terrific news," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Jerry Jennings. "Through her hard work and dedication, Selina rose to be a starter, a captain, the defensive Player of the Year in the Little East Conference, and now she's earned this honor. We couldn't be more proud of her, and we're pleased for her success. In her remaining time at UMass Dartmouth, Selina will be a role model, a leader and someone to look up to."
