NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team has been picked to finish sixth in the Little East Conference this spring.

The Corsairs received 13 points, 17 points behind fifth place Southern Maine and five ahead of seventh--place Rhode Island College.

Eastern Connecticut State was picked to finish first, and received 48 points and six of the seven first place votes, with Keene State receiving the other. The Owls were second with 35 points, Western Connecticut State was third with 34 points and Plymouth State fourth with 30.

"This year we are looking to improve our standing in the Little East Conference," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Sarah Booker. "Our competition will be strong, and our goal is to play as a cohesive unit by combining our veteran student-athletes with newcomers who will contribute at both ends of the field."

UMass Dartmouth finished 5-11 last year. The Corsairs finished sixth in the conference standings and lost to Southern Maine in the conference tournament.

The Corsairs will begin their season Thursday at home against Mount Ida.
