NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA – Freshman attacker Colleen Kane (Arlington, MA/Arlington) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's lacrosse team has been honored by the Little East Conference.
Kane has been named LEC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week. It's the third time she has received that honor.
Kane led the Corsairs in scoring last week, scoring nine goals and adding two assists for 11 points as UMass Dartmouth went 1-1. She scored seven goals and added an assist as the Corsairs rallied for a dramatic, 21-20 win at Salem State last Wednesday evening. She added two goals Saturday against Plymouth State. She also added 12 ground balls, seven draw controls and three caused turnovers.
"It is fantastic that Colleen is being recognized by the LEC for her strong performance," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Sarah Booker. "We are very excited about her contributions all over the field this season."
UMass Dartmouth will return to action Tuesday evening when they host Framingham State.
