NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA – Jessica Ricci (Hope, RI/Cranston West) scored with 47 seconds left in the second overtime to lift Rhode Island College over host UMass Dartmouth, 17-16, in Little East Conference women's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon at Cressy Field. With the victory, the Anchorwomen moved to 5-7 on the year and 1-4 in conference play.

Freshman attacker Colleen Kane (Arlington, MA/Arlington) had a career-high nine goals for the Corsairs (7-8, 0-5 LEC), including a natural hat trick in the first half. Kane also registered an assist, five ground balls and seven draw controls for the home squad.

Ricci highlighted the offensive attack for RIC with a team-high six goals. Teammates Ashley Signoriello (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) and Lauren Maisano (Bristol, RI/Mount Hope) added four and three goals, respectively.

Junior midfielder Taylor Corsano (Bourne, MA/Bourne) netted four goals and two assists for UMD, with senior Denise Gates (Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam) dishing out a game-high three assists. Senior attacker Brittney Enos (East Falmouth, MA/East Falmouth) contributed a four-point (two goals, two assists) effort for the Corsairs.

Senior goalkeeper Angelina Donovan (Medford, MA/Medford) finished with 20 saves for UMass Dartmouth, marking the fourth time this season she has stopped at least 20 shots in a contest. Taryn Carbone (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) made 12 saves to pick up the win for Rhode Island College.

The Anchorwomen outshot the Corsairs 43-37 (37-28 on goal) and held a slight edge in groundballs (34-33) and draw controls (21-17).

"Since today was such a close game with a lot on the line, we knew that every detail was important," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Sarah Booker. "Playing smart was our plan for the day and we could not execute when it mattered most.  RIC battled hard today for that tournament spot, and we really want to get there in future years."

Both UMass Dartmouth and Rhode Island College are back in action Saturday, with the Corsairs hosting Southern Maine in their regular season finale and the Anchorwomen welcoming Plymouth State.
