NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- University of Massachusetts Dartmouth sophomore Colleen Kane (Arlington, Mass.) was named the Little East Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week this afternoon by the conference office. The first conference reporting date covered the contests between Feb. 25 and March 9.
Kane powered the Corsairs' offensive attack with 19 total points, on 17 goals and two assists. In three appearances, the Arlington, Mass. product registered at least three markers in each contest. Kane produced a season-high nine goals in a double overtime loss to Mount Ida College on March 6. Two days later, she talled five goals and handed out an assist for six points at Salve Regina. In the season-opening win over Smith College, Kane netted a hat trick.
Kane is ranked among the Division III leaders in goals (7th, 5.67) and points per game (19th, 6.33). She is first in the conference circuit in both categories, while also leading the league in free position goals per game (2.33).
UMass Dartmouth (1-2) will return to action on Saturday, March 15, when the Corsairs travel to Castleton State. The opening draw control is scheduled for 1 p.m.
