FRAMINGHAM, MA-Framingham State's Brittany MacLean scored the tie-breaking goal with 21:57 remaining in the second half and the Rams went on to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's lacrosse team, 16-13, in a non-conference match at Maple Street Field Saturday.

The Corsairs, who trailed 8-5 at halftime, rallied to tie the score at 12-12 on a goal by junior attacker Gillian Carey (Waltham, MA/Waltham HS/UMass) before the Rams went on top for good.

Senior midfielder Allison Trearchis (Tyngsboro, MA/Ty6ngsboro HS) led the Corsairs with four goals and two assists, Carey added four goals and one assist, freshman attacker Brittney Enos (East Falmouth, MA/East Falmouth HS) added two goals and one assist, junior attacker Samantha Wonson (Lowell, MA/Lowell HS) added a goal and three assists, senior defender Andrea Russo (Tyngsboro, MA/Tyngsboro HS) scored a goal and two assists, while senior midfielder Liz Stapleton (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield HS) and freshman midfielder Heather Masse (Billerica, MA/Shawsheen HS) each scored once.

FSC out shot UMass Dartmouth, 35-26. Senior goalkeeper Liz Miller (Littleton, MA/Westford Academy) New Hampshire) played the first half for UMass Dartmouth and made six saves, while freshman Angelina Donovan (Medford, MA/Medford HS) played the second half and made 10 saves.

"We hit the crossbar seven times, we scored an own goal, and we just didn't have it today," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Jerry Jennings. "We just did not take advantage of our opportunities, and we didn't play well."

The Corsairs dropped to 3-3 with the defeat, while the Rams improved to 3-2 with the victory. UMass Dartmouth will return to action when they host Fitchburg State Thursday.
