DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team score the game winning goal in the 100th minute to propel the Corsairs to a 1-0 victory over the University of Southern Maine Saturday afternoon in Little East Conference women's soccer contest.
Junior Talia D'Ambruoso (Warwick, R.I.) delivered the decisive strike from 25 yards out to give the Corsairs their second 1-0 overtime victory of the season. UMass Dartmouth (5-4-1, 2-1-1 LEC) also defeated Lesley University in extra time on Sept.
Sophomore Madison Boucher (Southampton, Mass.) turned aside the only shot she faced to record her fourth shutout victory of the season. Her counterpart, senior keeper Marissa Temple (Grafton, Mass.), played the whole game in net and registered seven stops.
UMass Dartmouth held a decisive 23-3 advantage in shots and took five out of the six corner kicks that occurred in the match.
UMass Dartmouth will return to action at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, when the Corsairs travel to Roger Williams in non-conference action.
